German - cuban partnership/ alliance for sustainable development in the environmental sector

InCUBA.uhhu is a joint project by the rector´s office of University of Havana and the Humboldt University Berlin supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). InCUBA.uhhu is the pre-incubator of the University of Havana; it fosters innovation and value creation.

Production of ferrous scrap from the scrapping of ships, which allows the stable supply of the two existing steel mills in the country, in addition to the export of non-ferrous products obtained in the process and the sale of parts, pieces and equipment from dismantling, both for the domestic market and for export.

Cuba is a country with a high rate of literacy and access to health and education. However, these high standards coexist with problems and deficits in different areas of daily life; among others, the lack of maintenance of old sewage systems still in use, cutbacks in water supply and insufficient wastewater management.
